Send feedbackBilling & minutes
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or Mac App Store. On Mac, extra time is sold as one-time minute packs (3, 10, or 25 hours); iPhone and iPad offer minute packs and may also offer subscription plans. Ogmo never sees or stores your payment details.
For refunds, billing disputes, or a charge that doesn't look right, Apple handles these directly:
reportaproblem.apple.comIf your minute balance or subscription looks wrong after a purchase Apple confirms was successful (on Mac, try Settings → Account → Refresh balance first), email us and we'll help sort it out.
Frequently asked questions
Is my audio recorded or uploaded anywhere?
On iPhone and iPad, no recording is kept — once the transcript comes back, the audio is gone. On Mac, a compressed recording is saved on your device for playback (you can turn this off in Settings) and is deleted with the session. In cloud mode, live audio is streamed straight to our speech-to-text provider, Soniox, to produce the transcript. On Mac, if you import a file or re-transcribe a session in cloud mode, that session's audio file is uploaded to Soniox and then deleted from it. With an on-device engine on Mac, audio never leaves your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
What leaves my Mac when I use cloud mode?
Live audio (or an audio file you import or re-transcribe) goes to Soniox for transcription, along with recognition hints such as your custom vocabulary and display name. When you generate a summary, ask Chat a question, or let Ogmo suggest speaker names, the transcript text goes through Ogmo's cloud function to a third-party AI provider — unless you choose Apple Intelligence in Settings, which runs on your Mac or, if you pick Private Cloud Compute, on Apple's servers. A session is uploaded to the web only if you share it.
Does Ogmo work without an internet connection?
On Mac, yes for transcription: select an on-device engine in Settings and your audio is transcribed entirely on your Mac, with no account and no network needed once the model has downloaded (the downloadable engines are English-only and don't label speakers). Features that need the internet still need it: Ogmo Cloud summaries and Chat, session sharing, signing in, and buying minutes. For summaries and Chat on your Mac, you can pick on-device Apple Intelligence in Settings if your Mac supports it. Transcripts and summaries you already have stay viewable offline. On iPhone and iPad, Ogmo currently requires an internet connection for live captioning.
How do I capture a meeting or other audio playing on my Mac?
In the Mac app, choose “System Audio” or “Microphone + System Audio” as the audio source, then allow the Microphone and Audio Recording permissions when macOS asks (you can change them later in System Settings → Privacy & Security). Ogmo uses audio capture only — it does not record your screen. Only capture audio where you have the right to, and tell the other people when the law or courtesy requires it.
How do I import or re-transcribe a file on Mac?
In Mac versions that include file import, choose File → Import Audio or Video… (⌘I) and pick a file. Where available, you can also re-transcribe a saved session from its ⋯ menu where that option is available. With cloud mode selected this uploads the audio to Soniox and uses minutes; with an on-device engine selected it is processed on your Mac (English only, no speaker labels). A video's picture never leaves your Mac — only its audio is used.
How do I share a session, and how do I stop sharing it?
Sharing is optional and off by default. When you share a session, its transcript, speaker labels, and summary are uploaded and shown at a link anyone with the link can open — you can add a password. On Mac, deleting the session in the app also removes its shared copy and the link (this needs an internet connection). On iPhone and iPad, deleting a session does not yet remove its shared copy; email us and we'll remove it for you. Deleting your account removes all your shared copies.
Where are my recordings and exports on Mac?
Session recordings are kept in the app's own storage on your Mac and are deleted with the session. Ogmo also saves a Markdown copy of each session in a folder inside the app's storage by default, or in a folder you choose under Settings → General. That folder is on your Mac; when you delete a session in the app its Markdown copy is removed too. You can also export a session as a PDF.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open the app's Settings on iPhone/iPad or Mac and choose Delete Account (on Mac, Settings → Account; you'll be asked to type a confirmation phrase and your email). This deletes your Ogmo account and the session data you shared from our servers (purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat follow their own policies), and on Mac it also erases that account's sessions and recordings from the device. On iPhone and iPad, local transcripts are removed when you delete the app. If you only use Ogmo's offline guest mode on Mac there is no account to delete; your data stays on your Mac until you delete the sessions or the app. Markdown files exported to a folder are yours to delete.
How do I redeem a code?
On Mac, open Settings → Account → Add minutes and choose Redeem Code; this opens Apple's own code-redemption page in the Mac App Store, where you enter the code. When you return to Ogmo, your balance updates (use Refresh balance in Settings → Account if it doesn't). On iPhone and iPad, use the offer-code redemption option in Settings.
I bought minutes/a subscription but it's not showing up. What do I do?
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or Mac App Store, and Apple also handles refunds and billing disputes directly. If a purchase isn't reflected in the app, first reopen the app and, on Mac, use Settings → Account → Refresh balance. If that doesn't help, contact us and we'll look into it — for anything about a charge itself, Apple's own support at reportaproblem.apple.com is the fastest path.
